Double nomination for Redrow in Construction Talent Awards

REDROW has been shortlisted at the inaugural Construction Investing in Talent Awards 2016, for outstanding commitment to apprenticeships and innovation in recruitment.

The FTSE 250 house builder has been selected as a finalist in two categories – Best Apprenticeship Scheme and Best Use of Technology – making the first ever shortlists in the new national award scheme.

The awards, organised by industry titles Construction News and New Civil Engineer, seek to highlight and reward individuals and teams who work hard to attract and retain the best talent in the construction sector.

Redrow was given the nod in the Best Apprenticeship Scheme category thanks to its longstanding commitment to nurturing new talent. With over 250 apprentices at varying stages of development across the business, Redrow continually seeks to expand its trade and professional apprenticeships and is taking on 100 new apprentices this year.

The house builder is also shortlisted in the Best Use of Technology category after overhauling its applicant tracking system. Since installing the HARBOUR OnBoarding system last year, Redrow has been able to seamlessly refine its recruitment process for the benefit of potential recruits.

Karen Jones, Redrow’s Group HR director, said: “As a Top 100 apprenticeship employer we are incredibly proud of our track record in mentoring apprentices and helping them progress their careers with us, and it’s a commitment that is held by all throughout the business.

“Recognition at the Construction Investing in Talent Awards is a grateful reminder of the efforts of our enthusiastic and invested team, who are dedicated to promoting and overseeing all of our recruitment programmes. All of this is key to ensuring a skilled workforce for the future.”

Construction News editor Rebecca Evans said: “This year’s shortlist demonstrates just how hard businesses across the whole industry are working to attract, retain and develop the best talent.

“The initiatives highlighted by our finalists demonstrate the all-too-often unsung creativity of the people behind the projects. We can’t wait to celebrate all their achievements at the awards in December – and to reveal the winners.”

Redrow will find out if it has been successful in both categories at the awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on December 8, 2016.
