A career to be proud of

Redrow prides itself on quality, from our product to our people. We need bright graduates with real get-up-and-go to help us deliver more award-winning developments.

Construction Programme

Construction is at the heart of what we do. It’s where we turn the visions of our designers into a reality – creating beautiful homes for our customers.

This programme is an intensive two-year introduction to Redrow’s building process, designed to give talented graduates the skills and understanding to manage the construction of our award-winning homes. Based on site, you’ll gain hands-on experience of the entire build process from start to finish.

What to expect:

Working in partnership with our trusted subcontractors, you’ll oversee work including bricklaying, joinery and plumbing. You’ll be trained to direct the construction process, and how to ensure our tradesmen maintain the best quality and the highest levels of health and safety.

You’ll be working with experienced construction professionals and learning from some of our most trusted site managers. Not only that; you’ll also have the Construction Director as your mentor, ensuring you get the very best start at Redrow. There’ll be plenty of opportunity for formal training too, with courses readily available. And we’ll also support you while you work towards your Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) membership.

To join our industry-leading programme, you’ll need a 2:1 in any construction-related degree (for example, Building Surveying, Construction Project Management or Project Management).”

Rotational Programme

This 24 month programme will see you gaining exposure to virtually every aspect of Redrow. You’ll complete placements in Land, Technical, Construction, Sales, Commercial and Customer Service, with the chance to specialise in two areas in your last year. All the while, you’ll be mentored by one of our Managing Directors. You’ll be given projects by your MD, you’ll present to senior executives, and have  opportunities to join forces with other graduates on challenges and community initiatives, it’s a packed programme.

You’ll also spend some time with our other key head office functions including marketing, HR, IT, Finance and Legal to further increase your business awareness.

What’s more as you develop a clearer idea about where your interests lie, you’ll have the opportunity in the final year to pursue two placements in areas of your choosing.

  • This is also a very varied team. There aren’t many careers where being an architect, highway planner, structural engineer and interior designer are all in a day’s work.
    Paul – Technical Director

    Our People

admin-ajaxAfter graduating in Civil Engineering with German from the University of Nottingham, Paul joined our graduate training programme in 1998. He says that one of the things he enjoyed most about the programme was the level of variety it offered.

“One of the things that really stood out for me about Redrow was the fact that the graduate programme wasn’t just going to help me train to be a civil engineer. I was exposed to lots of different elements of the business. It was a great stepping stone from university to the world of work – I got to participate in some community-based projects too, which was really rewarding.

“I’ve come a long way since then, and I’m looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. I believe we have a product and site locations that are the envy of many of our competitors. We think about every last detail, and are passionate about quality. I’m very excited to be a part of Redrow’s ongoing success.”

  • I joined as a graduate trainee, progressed to Land Director; and now Regional Director - Redrow recognises hard work and dedication.
    Lee – Managing Director

    Our People

lee-hawkerDuring his 14 year journey with Redrow, Lee has progressed from a graduate trainee to become South West Regional Director.

In his new role Lee says he “enjoys the varied nature of the role and the ability to immediately make a genuine impact. The most challenging aspect is continuously looking ahead and anticipating issues. This is especially important at the moment in order to combat trade and material shortages”.

“Redrow is fair and  forward thinking and it’s flat management structure means it can quickly adapt to change”.

“I am proud to drive around our completed developments and know that not only have we built quality homes where families enjoy living but also knowing that we have achieved this the right way. Building in a safe and efficient manner and wherever possible using local labour and materials and making a real investment into the communities where we develop.”

  • I would definitely encourage anybody thinking of applying for a job at Redrow, it is a fantastic place to work.
    Sarah – Finance Director

    Our People

Unknown-1Sarah became Finance Director of two Redrow housing divisions in 2011. She joined Redrow 10 years earlier after graduating from Keele University with a degree in Economics and Finance and began as a graduate trainee in the finance team at Redrow’s headquarters near Chester.

Sarah said: “When I joined Redrow as a graduate trainee all those years ago, I hoped that one day I would be a director of the company; now that I am it is a fantastic feeling.

“The graduate trainee programme was an excellent introduction to the business and gave me the opportunity to study for external qualifications – I’m now an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) – as well as participating in a range of in-house training programmes. These included an excellent management course. It’s all helped to equip me for my new role.

“I would definitely encourage anybody thinking of applying for a job at Redrow, it is a fantastic place to work and if you are prepared to put the effort in and work hard there is every opportunity for you to progress and build a career within the company.”

  • Having moved through each of the six departments- it was definitely the right decision.
    Joshua – Land Negotiator

    Our People

8645Josh joined on our Rotational Graduate Programme in September 2015, based in our Midlands Division. He heard about the opportunity at his University Careers Fair and was attracted by the opportunity to rotate around various departments.

“I applied for the Graduate Scheme immediately after speaking to one of the existing graduates at my University Careers Fair. It was the opportunity to rotate around six key departments that attracted me to the role, as I knew it would give me a vital insight into our business.

I’ve moved through each of the six departments now- and it was definitely the right decision. This has given me a vital insight into Land Acquisition, Engineering and Construction, as well as Commercial, Customer Service and Sales – all of which have helped me understand the processes involved at each stage of a residential development. It has allowed me to understand the role that each department plays in this process and how they all link together.”
